Last call at $43!!!!

Wow! All 100 of the Road Trip CD Collection have been sold or reserved in just under one week. I ordered 100 more sets, and I was told that I would only be able to get 50 sets. After that, all sets sold were to be at the retail price of $79.00 plus shipping. Those of you who emailed or called me, I have sent out or put away a set for you. If you want to get a set wholesale, then please email me to save a set for you. The TV ads are hitting California and Texas tomorrow. It isn't very often you get a chance to buy something wholesale. If you want this set for the $43.00 price (includes shipping) , please email me asap.

"It looks like Jim Kane is at it again".

You better believe I am. I have received over 150 emails about this new CD collection. The Save Our Music Foundation formed about 9 months ago. The reason it was formed was the anger generated by the radio stations eliminating our music from the 50s & 60s. As many of you already know, I have a great love of "our" music ! I was asked to help put together this collection, so that the lovers of this music would have something to play when they are in their cars. No commercials, no three dollar bills programing music, No kids (who weren't even born then) choosing what I would listen to. Here's the deal - Remember "Rate the Record" on American Bandstand"? "I give it a 92 - It had a good beat, It was easy to dance to, and I could sing along with the record." That's how we chose the songs for this collection. Ever pull up next to an old fart, with his window! rolled up, singing away without a care in the world? I guarantee you he wasn't rapping or screaming out a heavy metal lyric. It was probably an oldie , which brought back a very happy memory. I went to bat for you guys, so that you would have an opportunity to buy this collection wholesale. I know many of you still remember the good times we had listening and dancing to this music back then. Well I had a lot of imput in the song selections, so if you don't like the songs - you can blame me. I don't remember too many of you missing a Boys Club dance back in the 60s. Well this is where I first heard these songs. I know you will remember the songs, just as I do. So now you know the whole story of the "Road Trip - Six Pack" Collection.
Have a Great Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim

New ROAD TRIP CD collection hits the stores!

It looks like this cd collection is going to be a big hit. Sales have been excellent. A lot of work by a lot of people went into the making of this collection. Promotion packages have gone out to 8,680 music dealers around the country. The initial response from the dealers has been great. It looks like some people still care about the "oldies". You should be receiving a letter this week about this collection. You will be offered the collection at best dealer prices. I could only reserve 100 sets, so give yourself an early Christmas present. If you don't get a letter , please email me, and I'll get one out to you immediately. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Road Trip CD#1 contest
(due date Wednesday, October 26)

Well here goes - we bailed out and went to see the mouse in Orlando for Hurricane Wilma. Our power was restored on Sunday, and just got internet today. So thats why you haven't heard from me.

John Johnson , from Beacon Falls, CT won the first cd with 4 correct guesses. Eileen Chase, Kitty Kaminski, and Jayne Dobek tied for second with 3 correct guesses. The new contest (cd # 2 will be out shortly.

If any of you are planning a trip to Florida, please let me know, and make plans to stop by, and see us in Port St. Lucie. So - that's the rest of the story, in a nut shell. jim

Here are 10 artists whose songs are
on the Road Trip #1 CD:
1. THE BEATLES
2. THE DRIFTERS
3. ROY ORBISON
4. THE SUPREMES
5. BRENDA LEE
6. THE EARLS
7. DION & THE BELMONTS
8. BUDDY HOLLY
9. GENE PITNEY
10. THE EVERLY BROTHERS

EMAIL ME (Jim Kane) three (3) songs from each artist. Choose the songs you think might be on this CD. Remember, this CD set will feature these artists, but not necessarily their top-rated songs. While this CD collection is packed with hit songs, it will not feature songs which can be readily found in other collections. Many of these songs were played at Boys' Club dances.

You get one point for every correct guess! Most points wins the CD.

Good luck and good guessing!

p.s. oldiesmusic.com is a good choice, but Mike Morin is still the KING.

The deadline -NEXT WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The early leader in the Bristol contest is Kitty Falconeri Kaminski with 3 correct guesses. I will be leaving for a trip to see the mouse on Sunday. Depending on what Wilma does will depend on when you get the results. Anyone out there with any recollection of old songs - please help former Bristolite Kevin Phelan. Last years contest Kevin won one of the prizes - (least correct answers). We don't want a repeat of that. Dee Valerio - Mike Morin says the phone lines are open. Mr. Doo Wop _ Dick Carlson has been pouring over his Bristol CD Collection to find some of the old songs.

On a different thought - Heffernan-Roy Records would like to thank all of the Bristol people who have contributed to their last CD project - "Bristol Talent". I had no idea so many of you formed groups and contributed to this project. Bristol's talent knows no bounds!
